As dream murals go, this one has taken the cake. As we love the fact that our stylistic abilities range in every direction, gigantic & realistic florals are where our hearts lie. We’ve had our sites set on increasing the scale of our florals from day one and needless to say, this one stole the show!
This piece was crafted for a lovely couple in their home in Calabasas, CA. The wall lives in a racketball court that is to be fashioned into a gym room. Very echoey and no speaker necessary. At 800 square feet, we used 2 of the tallest ladders we’ve worked on to date and every color of the rainbow in paint. It doesn’t get much better than that!
As botanical designs go we find it important to capture movement to give a sense that what you’re look at is alive. Realistic floral application is ever-challenging in the most rewarding way. We had a very important realization while trying to capture our completed piece through a photo, that scale reference is intently important. Once you see how truly magnificent the size is, then you can truly appreciate the work it took to achieve it.
